HHREC Survivor Speaker Passing

Lola Margulies, Holocaust Survivor and HHREC Speaker, scientist, educator, humanitarian, and cherished family member, passed away on June 9, 2026 at the age of 96.

Beginning in the 1990s, Lola devoted herself to Holocaust education and human rights advocacy. An active member of the HHREC Speakers Bureau, she spoke extensively at schools, synagogues, churches, and community organizations, sharing her personal story and emphasizing the importance of confronting hatred, prejudice, and injustice. Her testimony was featured in the documentary Testimony of the Human Spirit, produced by the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center. Through her speaking engagements and educational outreach, she touched thousands of lives and ensured that the lessons of the Holocaust would never be forgotten.
