HHREC Announces Appointment of Associate Director

White Plains, NY, September 1st, 2026 - The Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center (HHREC) of White Plains, NY has announced the appointment of Dr. Mallory Bubar as Associate Director. Dr. Bubar also serves as the Board Secretary for the British and Irish Association for Holocaust Studies.

Dr. Bubar has 15 years of experience in education, museums, and non-profit work, and she has taught German language, culture, and history while earning her Master’s and Doctoral degrees. Her dissertation examined representations of the child figure in Holocaust literature, film, and museums, with a focus on how to support learners’ introduction to the Holocaust.

After finishing her PhD, Bubar transitioned from academia to museum education, joining the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust. In her role, she oversaw the Museum’s education programs, collaborating with New York City schools, training museum educators, developing educational content, and securing funding for educational programming.

She has also worked with the Transatlantic Outreach Program at the Goethe Institut, managing educational initiatives such as annual teacher study tours to Germany and the online curriculum portal.
